Kartik Lakhotia is a high school student at Step by Step School in Noida, with a keen interest in Economics, Finance, and Business. He has authored several research papers on Economic topics published in international journals such as IJSSER and IJSR. He is also a member of his school’s Economics and Entrepreneur clubs since Grade 11.

Kartik Lakhotia launched an innovative online project, msmestartupindia.com, which highlights the potential and growth of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in India. The platform outlines the registration process, government schemes to support MSMEs, and their contributions to the nation’s GDP and employment, as well as their alignment with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. It also recommends various short- and medium-term institutional and regulatory measures for the Government of India to foster the growth of the MSME sector. The website was developed with insights gathered from research, exhibitions, seminars, and award ceremonies focused on MSMEs, featuring survey feedback from over 100 MSMEs in the Delhi National Capital Region and interviews with 10 entrepreneurs and artisans. The platform has received positive feedback from users.

In 2024, Kartik Lakhotia participated in the LSESU Economics Essay Competition, where he secured third place out of over 1,000 international entries. He also challenged himself by taking the AP Calculus BC test and achieved a perfect score of 5.

A passionate individual, Kartik Lakhotia has engaged in various community activities aimed at uplifting society. He advocates for financial inclusion among aspiring youth entrepreneurs and has conducted workshops on personal finance, digital finance, and entrepreneurship for over 60 students from different NGOs. Additionally, he has volunteered at ICARE Eye Hospital, assisting underserved patients with free eye surgeries and treatments. His contributions included helping with registration paperwork, guiding patients through the hospital, serving meals, raising funds for cataract surgeries, designing the hospital’s donation form, and collecting treatment feedback to share with hospital management.

By attending several internships with companies in the finance sector and trade and commerce, Kartik Lakhotia has gained practical experience and insights into the workings of financial markets and business operations. These internships have allowed him to apply his academic knowledge in real-world settings, enhance his analytical and problem-solving skills, and develop a deeper understanding of industry practices. As a result, he has built a solid foundation for his future career in finance and business.

In his free time Kartik Lakhotia pursues his interest in music. He is preparing for Grade 4 Piano exam conducted by the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM), in London. He has played at several social events and has been awarded certificates.
