Journeying Through Economics

Kartik Lakhotia, a high school student at Step by Step School, Noida, has been passionate about Economics and Entrepreneurship since Grade 11.

His project evaluates the support for MSME entrepreneurs, offers strategic recommendations to the Indian government, and aims to empower youth with financial literacy while highlighting the importance of sustainability.

Research Papers

Kartik’s interest in Economics and Business was sparked by a visit to Dubai, where he was intrigued by its status as a tax haven. To explore this subject further, he researched and authored a paper on: “How Multinationals Use Tax Havens?”.

Additionally, he authored two research papers being published in International Journals:

Kartik’s involvement with the MSME sector started with an internship at GTTCI, where he gained experience in Bilateral Trade and International Relations, participating in meetings, summits, and events for MSMEs.

At SMC Global Securities Ltd., Kartik gained practical experience in corporate wealth management, focusing on market analysis, investment strategies, and financial planning to boost corporate growth.

Kartik successfully completed a JunioMBA in Finance programme from Clever Harvey with an industry project for Groww.

Community Engagement

Workshops on Personal and Digital Finance

Driven by his belief in financial literacy as a catalyst for entrepreneurship, Kartik organized weekend workshops on personal and digital finance. 

These sessions, featuring interactive discussions, quizzes, and presentations, benefitted 65 children from NGOs ThinkSharp and Shakti Foundation, along with 31 children from construction worker families.

Leading with Compassion

Kartik volunteers at ICARE Eye Hospital, Noida, a unit of Ishwar Charitable Trust supporting its mission to provide free ophthalmic services. His roles include organizing cataract awareness workshops, designing donation forms, leading fundraising campaigns, serving meals, conducting market research for CSR collaborations, and collecting patient feedback. 

He collected funds which facilitated free cataract surgery for 64 village patients.
